Income tax department notifies tax return forms for non-salaried class including companies and individuals
- The income tax department has notified tax return
forms for non-salaried class, including companies, partners in firms and
individuals deriving their income from proprietary business or
profession.
- The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has
notified ITR3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 for Assessment Year 2015-16. These forms
are used by non-salaried entities to file income tax returns.
- As per the notification, companies and firms filing returns under
ITR-5 and 6 would be required to specify whether they are Foreign
Institutional Investors (FII)/Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) and
will have to furnish SEBI registration numbers.
- The government has earlier notified ITR forms 1 (Sahaj), 2, 2A and 4S (Sugam) for Assessment Year 2015-16. These are used for filing income tax returns by salaried individuals.
Pak releases 163 Indian fishermen as goodwill gesture
- Pakistan today released 163 Indian fishermen,
including three minors, from two jails in Karachi. A Sindh government
official said the detained fishermen were set free as a goodwill gesture
following the last month’s meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in Russia.
- The official said the fishermen will travel to Lahore from Karachi and will be handed over to Indian authorities at the Wagha border
The two sides had decided to release fishermen in each other’s custody,
along with their boats, within a period of 15 days, addressing one of
the major humanitarian issues between them.
Victorian Open WSA: Joshna Chinappa bags squash title
- Indian champion Joshna Chinappa annexed the squash title in the 15,000 US Dollar Victorian Open WSA Event in Melbourne.
- Joshna defeated second seeded Line Hansen of Denmark 11-5, 11-4, 11-9 to bag the title.
- The victory was achieved in just 32 minutes.
- It is Joshna’s tenth WSA title, the last being the Richmond Open title win in April last year.
- The title in the men’s section went to Ryan Cuskelly of Australia who beat Greg Lobban of Scotland 12-10, 13-11, 11-9.
Copenhagen Archery Championships: Indian women’s recurve team clinches silver medal
- Indian women’s recurve team bagged a silver medal at the World Archery Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.
- In the summit clash, the trio of Deepika Kumari, Laxmirani Majhi and Rimil Buriuly squandered a two-set lead and went down to top seeded Russians in the shoot-off 27-28 to settle for the silver.
- It is India’s second silver in the ongoing World Archery Championships where compound archer Rajat Chauhan opened the account with a historic individual medal.
